Terms of Use

Last updated: 15 July 2026 · Version 1.0

These terms are an agreement between you and Righted Holdings Limited (NZ company number 9434558, NZBN 9429053721129) (“Righted”, “we”). By creating an account or submitting a grievance you accept them.

1. What Righted is — and is not

Righted is a platform where you can record a grievance against a company and, if you choose, join with others in a similar situation so that litigation funders and law firms can consider funding and running group legal claims.

Righted is not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice, financial advice, or representation. Nothing on this platform — including responses from our chat assistant — is legal advice or an assessment of your claim's merits. Free alternatives for individual complaints exist, including internal complaints to the company and free ombudsman services such as the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (Australia) and relevant dispute resolution schemes in New Zealand. Using Righted does not affect your right to use those.

2. Your account and submissions

You must be 18 or older and provide information that is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge. Deliberately false submissions harm other users' claims and are grounds for removal. You are responsible for keeping your login secure. You retain ownership of your submission and documents; you grant Righted a licence to store, organise, anonymise, and — only with your explicit opt-in — share them as described in clause 4.

3. How clustering works

We group similar grievances (same company, issue, jurisdiction) into clusters. Prospective litigation funders see only anonymised, aggregated cluster information. If a funder and law firm (“consortium”) take on a cluster, clause 4 applies.

4. Your consent controls everything

  1. Before any information that identifies you is shared with a consortium, we will ask for your explicit consent, naming the funder and law firm and summarising the proposed terms.
  2. You may decline — declining does not remove you from Righted.
  3. You may revoke consent at any time via your account. We will notify the consortium, which must cease using your information except where a court process or law requires otherwise. If you have signed a separate agreement with a law firm or funder (for example, a retainer or funding agreement), revoking consent on Righted does not by itself end that separate agreement — check its terms.

5. No outcome is promised

We do not promise that your grievance will attract a funder, become part of a claim, or result in any payment. Group claims can take years, can fail, and any recovery depends on agreements you enter directly with the consortium — read those documents carefully and consider independent advice before signing.

6. What we charge

Righted is free for consumers. We earn fees from litigation funders and law firms, including fees for verification and aggregation services when a consortium acquires access to a cluster. We will always tell you which consortium is involved before you share anything with them.

7. Acceptable use

You must not: submit information about another person without authority to do so; upload unlawful content; attempt to access other users' data; use the platform to harass any person or company; or scrape or resell platform data.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or the NZ Consumer Guarantees Act that cannot be excluded. Subject to that, Righted's liability for any claim arising out of the platform is limited to resupply of the service, and we are not liable for decisions made by consortiums, the conduct or outcome of any legal proceeding, or losses arising from information you chose to share.

9. Ending your account

You can close your account at any time. Deletion of your data is handled per the Privacy Policy. We may suspend accounts that breach clause 7, with notice and a chance to respond except in serious cases.

10. Changes, law, disputes

We may update these terms with 30 days' notice for material changes. These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of New Zealand courts. Nothing prevents you complaining to a regulator in your own country.
